Ok, problem solved. Since I was looking more for a vocoder effect, not looking to morph between sounds, pvsvoc does the job with no delay.

Still midly curious about the delay though, could be problematic if one wants to start with one specific timbre before morphing into the other. Perhaps reversing the order of the inputs? Something I'll have to test later.
