I use my custom synthesis at sample level (sr=88200), where the tone ‘represents' periodic quotient in various bases (not only decimal). I scroll with schedule in a 3D matrix, with dimensions: Numerator, Denminator, Base; and organize according this principle other parameters as spatial direction, also a 3D octophonic cube. Most of the piece can run in real time in a PowerBook (no sound files, it’s all but synthesis).
