Lovely, constrained playing there. Though I wonder which is the bansuri and which the duduk. :) From a Csound point of view, I like the reverb. What did you use: algorithmic or convolution based? On a different level the recording is interesting: the calm playing in the foreground, contrasted to the background of, possibly the first, cars and blaring horns. This city must have an interesting atmosphere. Looking at the basics on Wiki, it sounds rather densely populated and still the performance is so calm. Perhaps its nickname has something to answer for there? :) Thanks for sharing! I enjoyed that very much, especially in the approaching west European autumn. yes, that's excellent ... definitely room in the world for more csound / bansuri crossover ... the ambience of the location recording adds a nice touch ... -- Sent from: http://csound.1045644.n5.nabble.com/Csound-General-f1093014.html Csound mailing list Csound@listserv.heanet.ie https://listserv.heanet.ie/cgi-bin/wa?A0=CSOUND Send bugs reports to https://github.com/csound/csound/issues Discussions of bugs and features can be posted here |

Every morning here I wake between 5 and 6 AM and do my ch'i kung and t'ai chi to the sound of ahir bhairav played on the bansuri. Such a peaceful way to start the day. However, I might now have to start it with the sound of the bansuri plus the sound of the duduk. :) Thank you for sharing. Time for shameless self promotion... The piece "Remembering Cubbon Park in the time of Monsoon" is csound+bansuri featuring Richard Dobson; taken from a live concert https://soundcloud.com/jpff/remembering-cubbon-park-in-the ==John ff On Tue, 17 Oct 2017, Tim Mortimer wrote: > definitely room in the world for more csound / bansuri crossover ... Thanks for feedback :) @Jeanette & TimI've used reverbsc with large hall settings. Duduk sounds more like saxophone, bansuri It has people, two sorts of monkeys, dogs, cows, donkeys - lot's creatures We recorded a bit in the hill, but the main road is still present at the background. @Dave Thanks! a bit of Bilaval for you @John Yes we can hear that too in the Rishikesh I guess in the mid day if we came closer to the main road. 2017-10-17 23:18 GMT+03:00 jpff <jpff@codemist.co.uk>: Time for shameless self promotion... |

It's interesting to note how the ambient music was present in the indian classical tradition long before the computer and affordable synths era.2017-10-18 7:29 GMT+03:00 Anton Kholomiov <anton.kholomiov@gmail.com>:
