so here's what all my questions of the past couple of days have been about. 
Thanks to everyone who helped. Even though he doesn't seem to read this list, 
I'd like to give special thanks to Brian Carty for his wonderful patience and 
helpfulness, regarding the hrtf opcodes that he wrote and contributed to.
So yes, this is binaural:

This is a preliminary version, I'm planning on a still image to acompany it, 
but that will have to be designed and rendered first. :)

It's a sort of room installation or collage, half modelled/synthesized and 
half created from field recordings.

The optimum position for this binaural piece is with your head about 1.25m 
from the ground with all the other restrictions of listening to binaural.
