Subject[Csnd] csound orchestration
This electronic version of the first section of Bach's Passion According to Saint John hints that an excellent, terrific  csound orchestration of the work can be done.

Unfortunately i do not have even the 10% of the knowledge to do it. I'm sure that composers as Steven Yi, Richard Boulanger, Victor Lazzarini, Michael Gogins and several others are able to do it.

"the slurs in the string parts! etc, etc, etc...". You didn't understand his statement. Csoundercsounder is right about the huge possibilites for an "ochestration" of that (and others!!) great compositions.

Reason is useful. I use it for the synth and samplers for our
CD and some film scores we did a while back.

Still, Csound goes places that Reason can't. Together, they
are a great combination, along with Arturia soft synth. Makes
for a great artist's color palette.

This seems like a good project for vst34cs...

Amen to the Arturia synths, all of the recent versions sound very phat.  Haven't used Reason for several years.  However I like LogicPro's onboard synths and I think Max has some newer modular vco synths that are nice too, haven't spent much time there since I found csound land though.

Really cool adaptation of the piece though, thank you for sharing.

Subtractor has some good and useful functions on it.
Good overall sound.

I have asked him on Youtube and it is Reason 12, Subtractor synth. So nothing to do with Csound...

Then the sounds most likely are from Reason. It's good as far as I know but not nearly as deep as Csound.

Looking at the youtube video info, this is done by a guy named Baroquenoise, using MuseScore ( that can read actual scores ). I do not know what synth he uses. He has done quite some classical composers...

This is fascinating. But please tell us more. Who created it and how? Was Csound really used?

Are you saying that this piece was rendered using Csound?

This electronic version of the first section of Bach's Passion According to Saint John hints that an excellent, terrific  csound orchestration of the work can be done.

Unfortunately i do not have even the 10% of the knowledge to do it. I'm sure that composers as Steven Yi, Richard Boulanger, Victor Lazzarini, Michael Gogins and several others are able to do it.
