1) you have not same versions (old mac version)?
		(newest = ftp://mills.edu/ccm/csound.ppc/Csound3.49.1PPC.sit.hqx)
2) you have newest mac version, which has a bug that file-creation buffer sizes
are not set properly 
			(too small so could slow down disk writing)?
3) maybe in newest version which now identical to PC code does not do text
messaging most efficient way,
		 try turning off messages or use listing file to see if that affects anything?
4) the speed difference is not that much to matter to a composer?
5) if you are using the "render time" output at the end it could quite possibly
be (very) inaccurate?
6) apple sucks?
7) the mac port sucks, as it is currently being supported by a lazy young
