I applied the trick for Fedora pointed by Steven Yi, but it did'nt work for my distro (Ubuntu 5.10 "Breezy Badger") I finally solved the problem by installing the package msttcorefonts (as suggested in https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/flash-player/+bug/3899) and restarting X. Finally, I can read without problems all the text in the flash player, and also stream the music.
