Hi Simon,

I had to fix up a couple of broken links in the manual before able to
compile the PDF, but besides the linkes, the
background-position-horizontal errors did not prevent me from
finishing to compile the manual.

As for the OutOfMemoryError, there's some information here:

My fop.sh here on a WinXP computer has "-Xmx384" added to the line
that runs fop in fop.sh.
