I had no idea that the vst functionality had to be removed, so I was wondering why Sonar couldn't see it! Its just as easy to render a csd as a wav and then load it as a track into Sonar on windows or Ardour on Linux. I'm getting more into writing scores in Rosegarden with my synth, and then converting it into a score file and use that to drive something in csound, which then renders into a wav file that I load into ardour, then I can record acoustic instruments with it, or process with jackrack. Ladspa seems to be mostly for processing audio. I believe there's a group working on a VST like standard for virtual instruments that would be open source. Vst is great, but the music world really needs Steinberger to LGPL it.
