in my previous orchestra i forgot to scale the indexes of the tables by
half. i corrected that and now it works exactly like i want it to: it
allows continuous transitions between (virtually) linear and distorted
during the note, and no funny amplitude variations. i created an UDO,
because i guess i might be using it in other occasions. the UDO expects an
audio input normalized to 1, and works best with the kind of transfer
functions used for companding and distortion, like a sigmoid or a
hyperbolic tangent.

i attach the new version. and i used a sine wave as input this time, so you
can play it safely too... ;-)
