Thanks for all the answers, and apologies for not including the [csnd] tag.

Unfortunately, at the moment, I don't know much C++, and no Python at
all, so I think I will have to go with including the library, and
create a .dmg file of the whole thing. I might be able to write an
apple-script or something like that, so that the person marking the
assignment (digitally submitted) will only have to double-click one
item.
