Hi Victor, Actually, I am also guilty of not looking much at what has been distributed these days. What I am doing is simply taking the Cecilia.app from version 4 ( http://www.csounds.com/cecilia/ ) and running the internal .tcl files using the interpreter from my older version of Csound 5 Csound version 5.08.91 (float samples) Apr 29 2008 libsndfile-1.0.16 What I do to run Cecilia is to simply right click on the Cecilia.app and go to ../../Cecilia.app/Contents/Resources/lib/ This is where all of the .tcl files live. The user is sort of required to edit the "init.tcl" file to point to where things are and update the way it calls Csound for version 5, but in essence running init.tcl from the cstclsh/cswish interpreters is Cecilia for Csound 5. Note that this has been possible since the very first version of TclCsound. My thinking is that instead of reinventing the wheel, the maintainers of Cecilia could easily just use TclCsound and perhaps the Csound API to make the transition as easy and seamless as possible. Personally, I sort of like using the interactive shell in conjunction with the Cecilia interface. To answer your question then, the version I downloaded is using Csound 4 as before (in a different process), but what I have done is simply to extract out all of the .tcl files and to run them in the cstclsh/cswish interpreter. The version of Cecilia is reported as 2.5.8. If I have failed to answer your question adequately, then I apologize and I will attempt to recast my response in a follow-up email. -David On Sun, Nov 23, 2008 at 9:08 AM, victor wrote: > David, > > I have not looked at what has been distributed as Cecilia these > days, so can you enlighten me?
