I use a 256 samples buffer and realtime support with jack as default for most linux audio applications and i have no problem. I can even run more than 4 - 5 applications like linux sampler, seq24, hydrogen and ardour at the same time without having any problems. Also my kernel has realtime support and my audio group has a high CPU priority.

I have this problem with csound especially when moving my mouse pointer and any items on the screen. The sound output cancels while having xruns.
Thanx.

1. run jack in realtime mode
and/or
2. set the csound buffer sizes to avoid xruns: -b swsamples  -B hwsamples

eg. -B512 -b128

Subject: [Csnd] Re: Working with Jack

Ok, I solved my problem by changing the command like:

csound -+rtaudio=jack -odac:alsa_pcm:playback_  foo.csd
this made the connection and it works but but i get too many xruns now.

Hi,
I'm using jack without any problems on most applications.
But with csound by typing:

csound -+rtaudio=jack -odac  foo.csd

I get no sound. The terminal output while realtime processing seems normal.
Also qJackControl connection window shows no connection between csound outputs and system capture device.
How can i make such connection.
Thanx.
