Hi Jonathan, I just noticed from your other email: pcm.ali5451 { type hw card 0 } ctl.ali5451 { type hw card 0 } If this is the card you are testing with, I took a look at the ALSA soundcard matrix page and it lists the ALI5451 as supporting Hardware Mixing, which is not the case for Jean or myself.
