I just downloaded Csound5.12 from sourceforge. I run the installer, point it to an install disk, the installer runs and I ultimately get the 'installation successful' message. However, when I check my 'applications' folder, there's no executable to be found. I've searched the system and find the disk image, all of the library files, but no executable. This is an intel macbook running 10.6.3. Any ideas? 10.6 is supported by now, right? Thanks, keith -- ------------------------------------------------- "Music is a terrible thing...." -- Beethoven ------------------------------------------------- |

Hi Keith, Since Csound is a language you need a front end for it. if I'm not mistaken, the current installer will not install WinSound and Csound5GUI as it previously did, so what you can do is copy the QuteCsound pacakge to your apps folder from the mounted installer disk. Hi Keith, Sorry, forgot to mention you might want to download version 0.5.0 which has many improvements over 0.4.6 which is the one included in the release: http://sourceforge.net/projects/qutecsound/files/QuteCsound/0.5.0/ Cheers, Andrés On Sun, Apr 4, 2010 at 11:02 PM, Andres Cabrera |

There is no GUI distributed with 5.12, you should install qutecsound if you want one (it comes in the same DMG package, just copy it to Applications). Otherwise, you can run the csound command from the terminal. Victor On 4 Apr 2010, at 22:59, Keith Hedger wrote: > I just downloaded Csound5.12 from sourceforge. Thanks Andres, I got rid of everything. Downloaded again and everything seems to be fine now. One thing though....I still don't find a Csound app on my system.....does the installation not install a regular Csound executable? I've got Csound 5 (not sure of the point version) my 10.5 system and I get an app that I can put on my dock and actually run if I want to. Can anybody tell me why I should NOT see one of these? That GUI application is now QuteCsound. Victor On 5 Apr 2010, at 02:22, Keith Hedger wrote: Thanks Andres, |
