SubjectRe: [Cs-dev] Fw: Csound API Question?
FWIW, I've tested this issue with Sugar 0.88 (SoaS Mirabelle - more recent)
and gotten identical results.

I also substituted this last line:
 def choose(self, widget):
  chooser =  ObjectChooser(self, what_filter=mime.GENERIC_TYPE_AUDIO)
  result = chooser.run()
  if result == gtk.RESPONSE_ACCEPT:
    jobject = chooser.get_selected_object()
    if jobject and jobject.file_path:
      filename1 = jobject.file_path
      print 'FileName = ', filename1
      self.w.set_filechannel("filename1", filename1)

set_filechannel is a method from csndsugui; it too returns identical
results.

I wonder if I need to find some other way of passing a filename to Csound?
(Are there any other options?)

Beautiful is writing same markup. Internet Explorer 9 supports
standards for HTML5, CSS3, SVG 1.1,  ECMAScript5, and DOM L2 & L3.
Spend less time writing and rewriting code and more time creating great
experiences on the web. Be a part of the beta today.

SubjectRe: [Cs-dev] Fw: Csound API Question?
I tested here now, just to make sure, and string channels work fine.
I have had trouble with string channels sometime during the last year,
but now it seems all ok.
Sorry for the noise there.

An alternative way to send Csound a string (Art) is by using a string
p-field in a score statement.

SubjectRe: [Cs-dev] Fw: Csound API Question?
another idea would be to use the --strset option, for instance:

--strset1=/Users/jh/Desktop/Ganze4_96k.aiff

instr 1
Sfile strget 1
aout diskin2 Sfile, 1
out aout
endin

i 1 0 5

i found this useful in several situations. unfortunately it is not
possible to write --strset1="/Users/jh/Desktop/Ganze4_96k.aiff", so it
is necessary to have a file path without spaces.
