Is there any ultimate difference between a Windows installer and a .zip 
archive (now that installing the Python stuff is optional), except for the 
setting of environmental variables?

I'd like the .zip distro as well, but it's no problem to eliminate or 
reassign the environment variables for me.

I'm sorry but I do not want to start a debate at every release. let's 
say I would really like to have a plain zip distribution. for details 
and rationale, please google for the last occurence of this topic in 
this list, which was I think rather comprehensive.
