| The zip file at

contains sources and examples for Csound 5 and CsoundVST for all platforms,
and precompiled binaries for Windows built with MinGW, as well as headers
and libraries for the Csound API.
The Windows installer at
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/csound/csound-5beta.exe?download contains
the precompiled binaries and examples, as well as headers and libraries for
the Csound API.
This release mainly fixes some bugs in the previous release.
Changes since the last release include:
-- The Csound API functions for inputting score events now work on the
assumption that pfield 2 is the current time.
-- The Loris Python extension module and Csound plugin opcodes have been
reworked for the new SUBR signature, and now work again.
-- The Java wrappers are now delivered as CsoundVST.jar, containing the
CsoundVST package, instead of loose class files.
-- The SConstruct build file builds the Java wrappers as a default option,
which can be turned off. As a result, CsoundVST now builds again on Linux
(Fedora Core 1).
-- The SWIG runtime code (pyrun.dll and -lsigpy) has been removed from
SConstruct. This code is not used with the current stable version of SWIG
(1.3.24).
-- Documentation has been removed from the Windows installer.
Please see the ChangeLog for more information.
Please consult the "canonical" Csound documentation at csounds.com for
installation help.
