is it possible that we provide some sub-folders in the main csound download folder? currently there are 14 files in http://sourceforge.net/projects/csound/files/csound6/Csound6.02/ , and i think it is not easy for beginners to know which file to download (i experienced this with some of my students). i'd suggest this structure: * Android -> csound6.apk -> Csound-android-6.02.0.zip * Browser (or Chrome? how to call this?) -> Csound-PNaCl-6.02.zip * iOS -> csound-iOS-6.02.0.1.zip * Linux -> Debian_amd64.tgz * Mac -> Csound6.02-OSX10.6 -> Csound6.02-OSX10.9 * Manual -> manual.src.tar.gz * MaxMSP -> csound~_1.1.1.pkg * Sources -> Csound6.02.zip -> Csound6.02.tar.gz * Windows -> Setup_Csound6_6.02.0.exe in addition, outside these folders the release notes, and if possible a short ReadMe which should very briefly explain what the different versions are intended to do (for instance: csound6.apk is the app, but Csound-android-6.02.0.zip are the android sources). what do others think? if something like this is a consensus, i'd be willing to put some work in it. best - joachim ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Flow-based real-time traffic analytics software. Hi Joachim, I like the idea to clarify the downloads. My own preference is to have all of the downloads in a single folder though, sheerly out of convenience. Sourceforge does have the ability to have a README per download folder that gets shown automatically if you go to the folder: https://sourceforge.net/p/forge/documentation/Files-Readme/ If that README is shown that describes all of the downloads and has the ChangeLog, would that be enough you think? steven On Tue, Feb 25, 2014 at 11:41 AM, joachim heintz |

hi steven - yes, this sounds like a good improvement. if in a single folder, perhaps we can have some unification in the file names? i'd suggest: csound-OS-VERSION# so, for instance: csound-Debian64-6.02.tgz (instead of Debian_amd64.tgz) csound-OSX10.9-6.02 (instead of Csound6.02-OSX10.9) csound-Windows-6.02.exe (instead of Setup_Csound6_6.02.0.exe) i'd personally prefer to seperate the README from the release notes, but this is not a huge difference. best - joachim Am 25.02.2014 17:53, schrieb Steven Yi: > Hi Joachim, > > I like the idea to clarify the downloads. That all makes sense regarding having a normalized file naming scheme. I'm happy to modify the installer scripts I have. John, Victor, Michael: Sound good to you? I'm happy to not have the change log in the file release README as well. Thanks! steven On Tue, Feb 25, 2014 at 2:03 PM, joachim heintz |

Looks good to me, but Browser should be Chrome because at this time only Chrome supports PNaCl.
