With regard to randi, I brought this issue to the list's attention more than
a year ago - though perhaps it was only in the context of CsoundAV, which I
was using nearly exclusively at the time.

I believe Gab has fixed the problem in AV. At any rate I resolved the issue,
which applies often in my work, by simply seeding randi with a value from
rnd31 - and forgot about it until now.

Composer types like me usually have to deal with an issue *now*.
