My main concern is the XO and SoaS typical user (child) being able to
straightforwardly access 5.10. And this is assuming we get 5.10 to work with
python in Sugar.

Right now the only thing that works in Sugar is 5.08 (OLPCSound). No upgrade
path to 5.10 (at least available to anyone but gurus [or is it guri?])

The upgrade path from the terminal via yum works to upgrade in SoaS, but
this is not especially simple, nor is it accessible to the student through
Sugar. (Perhaps unfortunately, Csound is not an Activity that can be easily
downloaded and installed within Sugar.)

I assume SoaS-2 will solve all current issues with 5.10, assuming we get it
working (in Sugar) by that time. I gather that this will leave OLPC as an
orphan - unless by then, SoaS-2 *is* the software installed on XO-1. (Is
this what's expected to happen?)

BTW, all this is a *far cry* from what I expected when I started working on
an XO Activity. It's been a wild ride. (But I guess that's the world of
Linux.)
