I haven't tried to get it working on Linux. I'm not sure what this would
require -- getting vst4cs to compile on Linux will be easy, but getting it
to work might be another story as the plugins themselves will have to be
compiled for Linux.

If the plugins are commercial or no source is available, many plugs can run (I
hear) with wine. Check this out (in case you haven't):

I guess this would work if vst4cs builds on linux (not sure about the dll
loading part, though)
