[Csnd-dev] Windows x64 status

Subject[Csnd-dev] Windows x64 status
In spite of how it may seem I actually have been able to put in a good
bit of time on this. Unfortunately getting csound.node to run in NW.js
for x64 proved quite difficult, I have finally succeeded.

At this time CsoundVST crashes. I am not terribly concerned about this
because probably Cabbage is better for VST plugins.I have not yet
tested vst4cs with x64 plugins, but I will.

I have not yet tried to build and run CsouindQt for x64 with HTML5.
This will be my next task.

Regards,
Mike

I don't have Max and so can't work on this. If I did have Max, I would
make sure it works.

Michael and Csounders...

And here is a link to the "free" Csound For Live collection that you can use for testing csound~ in Max and in Live

Dr.B.

PS.  NOTE: For testing and using, The "trial versions" of Max "never" expire.
They continue to run, you just can't "design" and "edit" new patches after 30 days,
however, you can still use and run ALL the max and jitter patches after that date.
Thus, you could continue testing all the csound~ examples and the Csound for Live examples.
And USE all the Max/MSP and Max4Live devices that are freely available on the internet - forever.

Hi all,

Here are links to trial versions of Live 9 Suite and Max 7 for testing Csound~ on Windows:

Note that the Max 7 trial functions as a runtime automatically after 30 days (patch reading, running, and editing are enabled, but not saving).

In case it helps, an error we've encountered on Windows 8 with Max 7 is to do with its loading of the csound~ external - in 64 bit Max, it doesn't recognize csound~ as a valid object (perhaps csound~ is 32-bit only?). In 32-bit mode, the ambiguous "Error 126" arises when csound~ has been attempted to be loaded into a patcher, with no particular explanation as to what the issue is. We've tried some proposed solutions found in forums and will keep trying to make it work on our end as well.

Hi, yes i can confirm that as it is now csound~ is not available for Win
64bit architecture.
I didn't understand very good from latest Michael posts if it is included in
his latest work on a Win64
csound installer.

thanks and all the best
a.

I have not included csound~ in the Csound installer for WIndows x64.
However the csound64.dll included in the installer (or buildable
fairly easily with MSYS2/mingw64) shoud work with csound~ if that is
built for x64.

Mike
