yes I did change it to support digidesign hardware. It's
working here with builtin audio and digi001; since it never
worked
for you with coreaudio, I suppose it's not much different
still.

I have yet to test it with a USB card.

I'll see if I have any idea what might be wrong; It's very
difficult
since I can't reproduce it here.

It did work for me with coreaudio for a short while -- which is why I
set it in the .csoundrc.  Looks like I will have to go back to
portaudio which at least gives sounds.
