I have found a Debian fop that is old enough. Now i am getting complaints about Jimi being missing. I found a tar.Z file on a Sun web site, but there is zero information about how to install it, set paths or whatever. So at present I can make PDF manuals without pictures. ==John ffitch ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ _______________________________________________ Csound-devel mailing list Csound-devel@lists.sourceforge.net |

Well.....I managed to get Jimi to work -- at least it is not complaining now. Current problem is that building one PDF manual has been running for over 6 hours elapsed and 1hr CPU and I have no indication of when it will finish. This is my slowest machine; not really a service machine but a firewall. But it runs Debian which is sufficiently behind the times that it offers the older fop. If/when it finishes I will upload the PDF of the manual. Cannot see anyway of generating the .chm file -- I have tried with wine.

I am still having troubles running fop to build pdf files. The first attempt crashed after 9hrs with an incomplete PDF. Started again with another case -- 4hrs so far and maybe 60% of the way. The crash was I think out of memory; not much I can do with that. Might try to build another Debian machine later today.

R=Thanks Steven; I can not get to the error message [INFO] [2405] [INFO] [2406] [INFO] [2407] [ERROR] null and it stops and deletes the .pdf file I think I will give up on this; I has expended 19hrs on it do far and have zero return. So, can anyone run "make pdf" and "make pdfA4" in the manual subdirectory? ==John ffitch ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ _______________________________________________ Csound-devel mailing list Csound-devel@lists.sourceforge.net |

fop.sh seems to be a script that calls fop after checking for darwin and cygwin, and a little more messging about. I found a copy via google.
