I don’t know where the problem is, but CsoundQT 0.8.2 is crashing with the latest libcsnd6. Over the weekend, I had to install csound 5 to test something and that wrote over whatever I had in my /Library/Frameworks. Since then, CsoundQT would not start because it could not see libcsnd.6.dylib. I noticed that was a link in /usr/local/lib pointing to libcsnd6.6.dylib in the Csound framework installed at the /Library/Frameworks. So I changed it to point to my latest installed lib in /usr/local/lib (placed there with make install). CsoundQT started again, but now it will crash as I try to play. I think this is due to either (a) a bug in libcsnd. (b) the ABI being broken. It’s most likely (b), but I just wanted to make sure. I tried the latest nightly, removing the frameworks that are supplied with it and it plays but also has crashed on exit (it has also some GUI issue in the toolbar background that keeps showing funny graphics that flicker, but I guess that is unrelated). ======================== Dr Victor Lazzarini Senior Lecturer NUI Maynooth, Ireland victor dot lazzarini at nuim dot ie ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ _______________________________________________ Csound-devel mailing list Csound-devel@lists.sourceforge.net |

The crash also happens with the 0.8.3 release version. ======================== Dr Victor Lazzarini Senior Lecturer NUI Maynooth, Ireland victor dot lazzarini at nuim dot ie On 11 Aug 2014, at 13:36, Victor Lazzarini |

My guess is due to the ABI compatibility. Andres: Do you have any builds that using the latest Csound from Git? On Mon, Aug 11, 2014 at 8:57 AM, Victor Lazzarini |

Hi, Not right now, as I've been struggling to get the nightly builds to support PythonQt, but I'll try to make a build without PythonQt support today to test.Cheers, Andrés On Mon, Aug 11, 2014 at 1:21 PM, Steven Yi <stevenyi@gmail.com> wrote: My guess is due to the ABI compatibility. |

Hi, I'm building right now, but it won't be against a git version, it will be against 0.8.3. Does that work?Cheers, Andrés On Mon, Aug 11, 2014 at 3:10 PM, Andres Cabrera <mantaraya36@gmail.com> wrote:

That should work. The only lib that seems to break it is libcsnd6.6.0.dylib. The actual CsoundLib64 seems OK with it (I have been using the latest all the time). That's why I am wondering whether it's an ABI break or something else.
