Steve, do you have -mno-cygwin enabled?
If so, take it away.
That'll cause the SIGALRM. It happened to me last night.
I am using it to create a cygwin based Csound.
I already have Mingw compiled Csound.

BTW I reverted my change completely. It's back the way it was before the
