Yes, this is pretty exciting. I think we need to better train ChatGPT about Csound, but it already seems to know quite a bit.
On John ffitch's birthday last year, I had chat compose him an algorithmic/fractal piece. - he and I then had a little fun fine-tuning it. I do think that many of my students now go here to do their initial homework in Csound - it does something for them, but they still don't get far with their own designs and thinking. - some study and exploration is required for that to happen. - Dr.B Dr. Richard Boulanger Professor Electronic Production and Design Berklee College of Music Professional Writing & Technology Division On Fri, Jun 21, 2024 at 11:17 AM Michael Gogins <michael.gogins@gmail.com> wrote:

| Yes, very surprising, months ago I make a simple trial, obtaining from chatGPT just the header… He/she or it (what gender is GPT?...) studied much in meantime. In short it will help to program also Csound (it’s difficult to say if it’s a good thing) Giovanni

I tried, just for curiosity, what would chat gpt could do with csound. Ask for a specific almost simple code, but it made mistakes all the time. In the most cases, it used non existant opcodes to give me solutions, and everytime I corrected it, it wrote "I'm sorry, try this"- no, wrong again, and again, and again... Maybe next month it get better ... Best wishes Marcelo Em sáb., 22 de jun. de 2024, 17:44, giovanni damiani <00000f31ffed4c22-dmarc-request@listserv.heanet.ie> escreveu:

I think that, when possible, it may help to "teach" it? I tried a question: Can you create a pitch shifter in Csound using the pvs opcodes? It needed correction a few times but was somewhat on track and eventually got it right: I asked it to remember the code, though, and when I asked again later it was a completely different code, far worse than the first attempt. So... ;) Best, Scott On Sat, Jun 22, 2024, 8:14 p.m. Marcelo Carneiro de Lima <marcelo.arcos2@gmail.com> wrote:
