No, I hadn't gotten that far, but I was certainly planning a mingw build.
That would be my preferred build on Windows, and perhaps the only one I
would support in the end. It was just easier to get started with Cygwin
because it is more like Linux.

Yeah, I like using Cygwin for the shell support and having the unix 
style directory tree, but definitely prefer compiling with -mno-cygwin.  
I'll be working on getting cygwin to compile with -mno-cygwin and will 
adjust the SConstruct file accordingly.
