on 17 Jan. Surely it must be near time for another release, say 17 Jan 2011? We must have changed/fixed/added much in that time. We have a small list of outstanding bugs: 3072900 voice issues 2010-09-21 nobody menno0 3065724 Real-time ending too soon? 2010-09-14 nobody fggpinot 3035924 ATS noise component with ATSsinnoi 2010-07-28 nobody 3024991 midiout and midion2 issues 2010-07-04 nobody menno0 2993171 ATSA errors 2010-04-27 gogins menno0 2959788 STKShakers not stable in real time on UBUNTU 2010-02-26 gogins rene-djack There is still a question of the stability of the new parser. My teaching madness ends in 3 weeks and so I may again have time. ==John ffitch ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Increase Visibility of Your 3D Game App & Earn a Chance To Win $500! I would not like to produce a new release without the parallel Csound stuff working. Doing that by January 17 would not be feasible. I think mostly what needs to be done is protecting global and shared data. This is pretty straightforward, and I have made a start in some of the opcodes that I have written. User-defined upcodes also need to be worked into the ParCS code, probably as always being single-threaded. This is not quite as straightforward as just adding locks around stuff, but probably not too terribly difficult. Regards, Mike On Thu, Nov 25, 2010 at 7:37 AM, John ff |

Also: if we are going to have the new parser by default, we need to fix the crashes on syntax errors (at least). It seems to me that every time a 5.13 release is proposed, there is some feature that should be included in it that is not ready yet. I believe it would be better to just get 5.13 out and finish this for 5.14; there are several bugfixes, improvements and opcodes in CVS currently. On Thu, Nov 25, 2010 at 14:56, Michael Gogins |

Ok, then we need to revert to the old parser as default. The new one is not quite there for release. There are a number of new opcodes and new code in CVS which might justify releasing 5.13 as it is. I would be favourable to that. I agree with Felipe. I think the big parser/parcs stuff will need a good period of testing and may be worth a bigger version bump to note its significance (5.2). A maintenance release right about now seems appropriate. On 11/27/10, Felipe Sateler |

Subject | [Cs-dev] small wish list for the next release |
hello developers - i have some wishes for some extensions, deriving from my own use and what i see at my students. it would be great if you find them useful, too. perhaps it's possible to have it in the next release? the wishes are: 1. can table3 be extended to read gen01 created deferred ftables? 2. the same question for tableicopy and tableimix. 3. add [@ N] and [@@ N] statement for function tables to ftgen (works now just in score f-statement) 4. let inch accept more than one argument, for instance: a1, a2 inch 1, 2 5. i'd love to have a possibility to read in a line from an external file and get it as a string. something like: Sline freads Sfile, iline and Sline freadks Sfile, kline this would be the complement to the fprints/fprintks opcode. regards - joachim Am 25.11.2010 um 13:37 schrieb John ff: > on 17 Jan. hello developers - christmas comes closer, and my wish list (= questions to you whether something like this would be possible for the next release) has become a little longer. so may i repeat my updated questions: 1. can table3 be extended to read gen01 created deferred ftables? 2. the same question for tableicopy and tableimix. 3. can the [@ N] and [@@ N] statement for function tables be added to the ftgen opcode (works now just in score f-statement)? 4. let inch accept more than one argument, for instance: a1, a2 inch 1, 2 5. i'd love to have a possibility to read in a line from an external file and get it as a string. something like: Sline freads Sfile, iline and Sline freadks Sfile, kline this would be the complement to the fprints/fprintks opcode. 6. can the facility of optional arguments for UDOs be extended for k arguments (in other words: it would be great to be able to use o/j/p for k-rate arguments, too). thanks and best regards - joachim Am 25.11.2010 um 13:37 schrieb John ff: > on 17 Jan. A version of readks now exists, as a reflection of readk Sline readks Sfile, itimeout May not be what you want though..... ==John ffitch ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ What happens now with your Lotus Notes apps - do you make another costly upgrade, or settle for being marooned without product support?
