BTW, midiox (midiox.com) includes a very nice virtual ASCII keyboard
implementation. (This is Windows only - free, but I imagine Mac has
something similar.)

It is quite easy to use, and its feature set makes it possible to simulate a
few sliders as well. I've actually created versions of several of my RT
pieces using the MIDIOx virtual keyboard as the performance instrument.
