I'm using Portaudio v.19 because it allows to select different host apis 
under Windows (i.e. MME, DirectX and ASIO) inside the same executable, 
in a way that I find very useful to me. I tried to build latest versions 
of the v.19, and it seems to me that there are several changes that make 
the coexistence of all host apis a bit more tricky, so I still use an 
earlier snapshot of v.19
