[Cs-dev] FLTK on Windows

Subject[Cs-dev] FLTK on Windows
Mike's instructions say it must be fltk-1.1.10 but I cannot find that
version for Windows. It I use 1.3 but call it 1.1.10 it seems that I
can get some things to compile, but the linkage is a total disaster.

What is the secret to building with ftlk support?

==John ffitch

If you go past the front page to the download page you can find it:

http://www.fltk.org/software.php?VERSION=1.0.11&FILE=fltk/1.1.10/fltk-1.1.10-source.tar.bz2

SubjectRe: [Cs-dev] FLTK on Windows
I was hoping to not build on WIndows as I find the environment unfriendly.

Anyway I did take sources and built. Actually still got the same kind of
problem. It does not find the fluid program. I can copy it from
/fltk-1.1.10/fluid/fluid to /csound5 and then I get loads of undefined
references, but the list is so long that I do not know if it is missing a
library or what.

So no further forward.

For what it's worth, I'm compiling csound here on OSX with fltk 1.3.x.

SubjectRe: [Cs-dev] FLTK on Windows
I used to build it with 1.3, can't remember exactly why I changed back
to 1.1, but there must have been some problem or I wouldn't have
changed it back...

My sympathies with respect to Windows, building on Linux is a much
friendlier experience. If I put off doing a Windows build too long,
updating all the dependencies and tools and rebuilding Csound for the
installer can take days. Doing the same thing on Linux takes hours.

Regards,
Mike

Be advised that there is a bug in fltk 1.1 that causes clipboard
issues and instability in CsoundQt on Windows. AFAIK it was fixed in
1.3 but not in 1.1.

SubjectRe: [Cs-dev] FLTK on Windows
Hi Michael,

I've implemented a workaround in CsoundQt that deals with the bug in
FLTK 1.1. Please let us know if you switch back to FLTK 1.3 so I can
remove the workaround.

Cheers,
~ andy.f
