What about other Linuxes? Is this problem showing up there too?

Very difficult to debug, because it works perfectly here,
as per the manual. I am using Fedora core 7, updated jackd to
0.109.2. Csound is from CVS.

Both -odac:system:playback_   and -odac:alsa_pcm:playback_
will work here.

So it's difficult to see how it can be fixed, if it ain't broken.
