scons is a Python program, so Csound does not build without Python. But, if
you do not build the Python interface or opcodes, Csound thus built will
not require Python to run.

But you can still just take the python dependecy right out, correct? I 
mean, the resultant csound build only depends on python *if* you chose 
to build the python opcodes. I am under the impression that using scons 
by itself does not introduce any runtime dependecy on python.
