reported via sourceforge; think this is csound5gui/Windows? ==John ffitch RE: crash usin winsound and csound5gui in win I regret to say that I am still getting the crashing csound5gui problem. I previously reverted to 5.03 to avoid the problem, but I recently updated to 5.06 and csound5gui is crashing again. It worked when the 'Realtime I/O' box was ticked (although the resulting sound is a bit crackly - I am using the d version), but as soon as I untick, it crashes before doing any rendering. I am just following Michael Goggin's tutorial. The file xanadu-high-resolution.csd renders fine when using the command-line. The tutorial doesn't show the new appearance of csound5gui, but I can't see what I could be doing wrong (particularly as 5.03 could be made to work). Any suggestions? Just another user reporting in: I installed 5.06 on my Windows XP SP2 machine (2.2Ghz Celeron with standard audio support). (I also have Python 2.5.1 if that matters--I seem to recall that only CsoundVST needs it.) Launcing csound5gui and open xanadu-high-resolution.csd from the examples subfolder. Pressing Play/pause actually runs the example without crashing -- but it does sound sort of bad, probably because sr=88100 and ksmps=1. It crackles and the CPU load is around 90%. By changing sr to 44100 and ksmps=10, it runs and sounds good, and the CPU load is only about 40% max. Don't know if that's of any use to anyone. -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/GUI-problems-tf3940931.html#a11180729 Sent from the Csound - Dev mailing list archive at Nabble.com. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by DB2 Express Download DB2 Express C - the FREE version of DB2 express and take control of your XML.
