| I see no purpose for snapshots. All we need to do is keep the file releases
reasonably up to date. If you like, 3rd party libraries can go into a
separate file release that rarely changes. I have seen this in several
projects.

Actually, the Sourceforge docs recommend putting TEMPORARY downloads in the
project web space, not in the file release system. File releases are
permanent. Snapshots are temporary.
I also would like to see all of the large files (snapshots, soundfonts)
removed from CVS. Even though I have broadband, the CVS update tends to
fail for me on these large files. (I don't know why ...)
