| Greetings:
The Linux audio consortium is located on the Web at linuxaudio.org,
you can find a few more details there. However, at this point we've
really only reached the first stage, i.e., the validation of the
concept. In the year since Daniel James brought the consortium into
being it's gained ~20 members. Now it's time to start defining goals in
more detail, a process begun at this year's LAC2005 by our new director
Ico Bukvic.
Currently there are no fees or other obligations. Hopefully we will
soon begin polling the membership for thoughts on projects and
priorities. Please see the Web site for more details regarding the
general design and aims of the consortium. I've cc'd this message to
Ico, perhaps he can step in with answers to specific questions.
And of course the Csound group (however it might be defined) would be
a most welcome addition to linuxaudio.org. To allay potential concerns
regarding the platform, understand that the terms of the consortium in
no way restrict the directions of development efforts as long as there
are demonstrably strong efforts in the direction of Linux and F/OSS
(free & open-source software).
Best regards,
Dave Phillips
