Will versions prior to 6.06 continue to be archived at sourceforge? I use these to test backward compatibility with my projects, and to state in my docs which versions are compatible. On github, I only see source materials relating to earlier releases. Art Hunkins ----- Original Message ----- From: "Victor Lazzarini" |

Could you give us the link to the archive top-level directory? We should add it to csound.github.io. Then you can just delete the csound project at sourceforge (unless there are people here against it). ======================== Dr Victor Lazzarini Dean of Arts, Celtic Studies and Philosophy, Maynooth University, Maynooth, Co Kildare, Ireland Tel: 00 353 7086936 Fax: 00 353 1 7086952 > On 22 Jun 2016, at 11:41, John |

Could you change the directory name to Csound-archive (from CSound-) to correct the spelling (and reinforce the right one)? Victor Lazzarini Dean of Arts, Celtic Studies, and Philosophy Maynooth University Ireland > On 22 Jun 2016, at 17:15, jpff |

To be exact, we’re getting HTTP 403, which maybe could be to do with something else other than directory permissions. ======================== Dr Victor Lazzarini Dean of Arts, Celtic Studies and Philosophy, Maynooth University, Maynooth, Co Kildare, Ireland Tel: 00 353 7086936 Fax: 00 353 1 7086952 > On 23 Jun 2016, at 13:33, jpff |

I see that your pages are served by Apache/2.4.6 (Linux/SUSE). Certainly a <Directory> section to set in your apache conf file(s) for those directories. 2016-06-23 15:07 GMT+02:00 Victor Lazzarini <Victor.Lazzarini@nuim.ie>: To be exact, we’re getting HTTP 403, which maybe could be to do with something else other than directory permissions. |

In /etc/apache2/vhosts.d/ create a file named oldReleases.conf with this content: Options Indexes -MultiViews<Directory the-path-to-OldReleases> 2016-06-23 18:57 GMT+02:00 John <jpff@codemist.co.uk>:

Perhaps the project should not be deleted entirely, but all content could be removed and it could become just a pointer to github. I worry that if it is abandoned someone could take over it. Cheers, On Jun 24, 2016 3:47 AM, "Francois PINOT" <fggpinot@gmail.com> wrote:

That's exactly my worry. If we delete it, sf will not be able to take it over. The problem, as I understand it, is sf using projects to place spoof downloads. If we get rid of it, that's us done. Victor Lazzarini Dean of Arts, Celtic Studies, and Philosophy Maynooth University Ireland

I think it might be better if it is still under our control but with no content or downloads and perhaps a note that no downloads on sourceforge are approved. Cheers,On Sun, Jun 26, 2016 at 11:21 AM, Victor Lazzarini <Victor.Lazzarini@nuim.ie> wrote:

I’ve added a link in the downloads page to your archive http://csound.github.io/download.html I was wondering whether all csound5.* directories in /OldFiles should be moved to /csound5 and the csound4 directory in /OldFiles could replace the top-level csound4_old directory. In other words: Csound4/ Csound5/ Csound5.*/ Csound6/ csound6.*/ OldFiles/ => everything else. ======================== Dr Victor Lazzarini Dean of Arts, Celtic Studies and Philosophy, Maynooth University, Maynooth, Co Kildare, Ireland Tel: 00 353 7086936 Fax: 00 353 1 7086952 > On 28 Jun 2016, at 16:01, jpff |
