| As near as I can tell, the project is dead as far as computer music is
concerned. It is still alive as far as MPEG itself and John Lazzaro is
concerned. It looks to me like he is continuing to refine Sfront as a
reference implementation for the RTP MIDI protocol that he is working on.
The project would come back to life as far as computer music is concerned,
maybe, if someone would come up with a runtime engine for SAOL that is
better than the runtime engine for Csound.
Anyone who knows more about this than I do -- please correct me if I am
wrong!
