The LaTeX sources and PNG images for this document are in Csound CVS, in the 
tutorial directory.

Please feel free to comment or to go ahead and edit the sources. I need help 
with the Linux and Apple "Getting Started" sections.

I will be updating the draft tutorial online frequently until it is more or 
less finished.

Hi Michael,

I haven't been able to see the tutorial, as kpdf and my other linux pdf
viewers can't open it, and trying to build it using latex produces
several of these errors:


! LaTeX Error: Cannot determine size of graphic in download.png (no
BoundingBox
).


Any ideas?

Sounds like it need pdflatex rather than latex

I found that if I use pdflatex it almost builds -- the file 
csound5gui_correct.PNG needs to be renamed as csound5gui_correct.png
and similar for csoundvst_new_instance.PNG and csoundvst_orchestra.PNG
Lots of warnings and wrong sizes though

Thanks, that's definitely part of the problem, but now I get:

356.


Error: pdflatex (file csound5gui_correct.png): cannot find image file
 ==> Fatal error occurred, the output PDF file is not finished!

Hi Michael,
Is this going to be the final location for this document? I'm including
a list to it on the Getting started section of the manual.

On Linux installation can be done from the .deb or .rpm files on
sourceforge, or building from source.
The CsoundGUI instructions you have written should work mostly the same
for linux (I can't currently build csoundGUI becuase it needs a high
version of FLTK). If you want to include some other command line
instructions have a look at the section Real-time audio for Linux on the
manual.
