| What I mean is, what are the pros and cons of writing a complete parser as opposed to embedding the opcodes and engines in an existing language?
As an example, consider Octave as a complete parser for linear algebra (among other things), and compare with Python Numeric as embedding a "C" library for linear algebra into Python. I understand there is considerable functional overlap. I have had good experiences using Numeric.
Best,
Mike

But I did write a complete parser -- it is not from scratch.
