I'm managing these stats as printed by csound

Elapsed time at end of performance: real: 61.039s, CPU:
44.600s

when running trapped to disk.

550 KHz G4 256 MB.

It's not linux, but is much better than it used to be with
10.2

It may be interesting to find out what caused the difference, and
how do other versions of Csound perform.

Well, knowing this, the results actually look very good :-)

That is pretty good!!

On my G4 Version 10.3.8, dual 500 MHz, Memory 640 MB.

Csound version 5.00 beta (float samples) May 27 2005
libsndfile-1.0.11
UnifiedCSD: examples/trapped.csd

Elapsed time at end of performance: real: 152.231s, CPU: 157.640s
49987 1024-byte soundblks of shorts written to ./SFDIR/trapped.aiff

It is very poor in comparison to Victor's machine, with the same file
(trapped.csd) on the MacCsound: real 53.323s.
