With the low-latency kernel enabled, with -d --sched -odac1, I still get
dropouts (or, to be precise, output underruns).

I am using the ESS Maestro 3 driver, this is a builtin PCI sound card.

The aplay program, Audacity, xmms, etc., all work just fine.
