Hi All, I wanted to check in on the status of things for 6.04.0. It seems to me there are two primary outstanding issues: * Compilation on Windows seems to be a problem * The Emscripten build needs to be corrected I've been going back and forth with Ed regarding Emscripten and he's been great in leading that effort. I'm unsure of the state of the Windows build; could Rory and Michael chime in on where we're at? Also, are there other things we are currently waiting on? I'm wondering when should we start the release branch and get the other releases going. Thanks! steven

Right now I can get the windows dev branch to build if I swap out the frontends/CMakeLists.txt with the one from the master branch. It was never an issue for me that csnd was being linking to pthread, as Cabbage doesn't link to it at all. On 24 November 2014 at 23:01, Steven Yi |

I admit to confusion about pthreads. I seem to be able to build and run with or without. I'll put it back as it was. There are a few android issues I want to deal with. Probably just take a few hours. Regards, On Nov 24, 2014 6:17 PM, "Rory Walsh" <rorywalsh@ear.ie> wrote:

Thanks Mike. After this release we can perhaps think about a more versatile way of enabling or disabling pthread linking. On 25 November 2014 at 02:21, Michael Gogins |

>From my perspective, the OSX packaging is ready. I had no further reports, but I have fixed some outstanding issues I found meanwhile. This should work for 10.7-10.10, and I can produce a 10.6 package as well, but that will need a matching CsoundQT, which we do not currently have. I am wondering whether we should drop support for 10.6 at this point (we have been working with 3-4 versions behind for most of the releases, and support for 10.5 was dropped way back in one of the later versions of 5). best regards ======================== Dr Victor Lazzarini Dean of Arts, Celtic Studies and Philosophy, Maynooth University, Maynooth, Co Kildare, Ireland Tel: 00 353 7086936 Fax: 00 353 1 7086952 > On 24 Nov 2014, at 23:01, Steven Yi |

I would hope that you can continue to prepare a version for 10.6, even if it ships without CsoundQT. I don't use CsoundQT on OSX 10.6, but I do use csound~, csoundapi~, csnd.jar, csnd.py, csladpsa, WinXound etc. I would hate to lose support for all of these equally amazing frontends. i would welcome a 10.6 version, too. perhaps it could be shipped with this csoundqt: http://sourceforge.net/projects/qutecsound/files/CsoundQt/0.8.3/CsoundQt-0.8.3-OSX.tar.gz/download joachim Am 25.11.2014 um 12:54 schrieb Rory Walsh: > I would hope that you can continue to prepare a version for 10.6, even > if it ships without CsoundQT. Please don't drop support for 10.6. I don't use csoundQT, but I rely on old mac hardware to lend for performances, and some of these laptops/mac minis cannot be updated to newer versions of OSX.
