I am getting the same thing here on OS X with CVS head.  I guess I will try
building with yesterday's sources or something ...

Sorry -- my files are/were consistent but "cvs commit" does not seem
to work on all files.  I am very confused by this, but I think that
the files are consistent now.
  I found a number of differences between my "master" files and those
on CVS
