| I have now re-created the MinGW build for the
Windows installers with a completely current MingW/MSys/SCons toolchain (GCC
3.4.5, MSys 1.0.11, SCons 0.97). Problems came down mostly to not cleaning
up all intermediate files when changing tools. I now have separate
directories for each toolchain.
I expect to upload new installers based on the MingW build for 5.08beta in
the next day or so.
GCC 3.4.5 execution speed is slightly slower than MSVC 2008 and almost
exactly the same speed as MSVC 2005. Therefore, even though all parts of
Csound including CsoundVST ran with MSVC 2005, there is no reason to prefer
MSVC 2005 to MinGW 3.4.5. Consequently, I will focus on getting all of
Csound to run with MSVC 2008, which is somewhat faster.
Both the MSVC and MinGW builds include the OSC opcodes.
I also will try the MingW build with GCC 4.2.1 (this should not take long to
try).
Sorry this has taken so long, but I believe that things are now considerably
more up to date.
Regards,
Mike
