I'm sorry -- this should not be a default target (building csound.pdf
invokes metafont). I will fix this tonight.

It is not compiling again.  Why all this call to metafont?  It is one
of those that fails as far as I can judge

Actually Michael it did get past the Metafont stuff but barfed on

This is RedHat 7.3 machine, moderately updated until Redhat expressed
what they thought of users.  It i8s doing pdfTex but this is latex error
message:
