[Cs-dev] building Csound and Git

Subject[Cs-dev] building Csound and Git
Hi,

Two questions:

1) I have the latest version of MinGW located in c:\Mingw (on Windows
XP Service Pack 3), and Python 2.7 located in c:\python27. I have a
c:\src directory for building software from source. How do I go about
building Csound with this setup?

2) When I tried to clone the Csound Git repository, I got an error
message about Git hanging up. How long has this been happening? I was
using MsysGit at the time, but I realized it had another version of
MinGw. What should I do, use the MsysGit version of MinGW to build
Csound or the version of MinGW at SourceForge, building Git and
cloning the repos?

Thanks,

Adam

Read this document and use the parts you need, but do MinGW/MSys
Python and SCons as it says:
http://csound.git.sourceforge.net/git/gitweb.cgi?p=csound/csound5.git;a=blob;f=How_to_Build_Csound_on_Windows.doc;h=abc1a4d1c9da82bb213e8c3af0f0d47d6583bb8e;hb=HEAD

Use the regular GIT installer for git from
http://code.google.com/p/msysgit/downloads/detail?name=Git-1.7.7.1-preview20111027.exe&can=3&q=official+Git.

Hope this helps,
Mike

Mike,

I can't open Word so I can't read the document. Could you make it a
text document?
