If that's the case, try making a symbolic link from the required name to the actual filename -- not renaming the actual file since its name is required by Python, for example.

This might be related to what happened on Linux, where Java expects
the library to be named lib_csnd.so (though, I haven't tested the java
binding on Linux yet since the last time).
